Throughout their movies, Marvel made it a point to pay homage to the people who made it all possible – the original stories’ writers.
Going clockwise from the upper left, J. Michael Straczynski (Thor writer in the late 2000s) is seen in the first Thor movie trying to lift Mjolnir, Ed Brubaker (creator of the Winter Soldier) is seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as a scientist, Walt Simonson (hugely influential Thor writer/artist in the ’80s) is seen celebrating with the Warriors Three in the first Thor, and finally Jim Starlin (creator of Thanos and writer of the original Infinity Gauntlet story) appears in Avengers: Endgame as a member of Cap’s support group.
