Adam Michael Goldstein packed more into his 36 years than some people do in a lifetime. Known professionally as DJ AM, he was highly successful as a solo disc jockey as well as a duo, with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. DJ AM appeared as himself in Iron Man 2, deejaying Tony’s birthday party, while also providing the soundtrack for Iron Man’s battle with War Machine.
Reportedly, Robert Downey Jr. took such a shine to him that his time on the set was extended. Sadly, just two months after filming his part, Goldstein succumbed to his substance abuse issues. Iron Man 2 was dedicated to his memory.
