Donald Glover is far from the only Community star to appear in the MCU, but his hilarious Spider-Man: Homecoming cameo bears special attention. Seven years prior to Homecoming’s release, lifelong Spider-Man fan Glover campaigned on social media to play Spidey.
The role went to Andrew Garfield, but while Glover didn’t play THE Spider-Man he did voice A Spider-Man – half black-half hispanic Miles Morales, known as Ultimate Spider-Man, on an animated show. It all came full circle in Homecoming, with Glover playing a petty crook named… Aaron Davis, who just so happens to be Miles’s uncle in the comics.
