This particular role might be one of the biggest missed opportunities in MCU history. The usually-ignored The Incredible Hulk introduces us to Bruce Banner’s psychotherapist, Dr. Leonard Samson. The good doctor sees an opening with Banner’s girlfriend Betty Ross after the scientist disappears and goes for it.
Samson’s played by Modern Family’s Ty Burrell, in a role that’s the polar opposite of the bumbling Phil Dunphy. Sadly, much of Burrell’s performance was left on the cutting room floor, which is doubly agonizing because in the comics Doc Samson takes on some of the Hulk’s super strength!
