Arguably, if there’s anyone in the world today that comes within a country mile of being the real-life Tony Stark, it’s Tesla CEO Elon Musk. There’s a certain kind of justice, then, in the world’s richest man meeting his Marvel equivalent – Tony.
The seconds-long cameo comes in 2010’s Iron Man 2, with Stark and Pepper Potts running into Musk, playing himself, at the Monaco Grand Prix. Tony tells Musk his Merlin engines, actually used by SpaceX in real-life, are “fantastic.” Musk responds by saying he’s now developing an electric jet – and five years later, he actually did!
