Siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter were the thing in the 70s, with dozens of hits under the name of their band, The Carpenters, topping the charts throughout the decade. However, their story wasn’t all glory, as Karen started suffering from eating disorders which slowly developed into a bigger problem, with her losing weight every year.
As her condition wasn’t so heard of at her time, it was something that she hid until her passing in 1983. This is one of her last photos, captured during an interview for Good Morning America.
