[post_page_title]Old soldiers never die[/post_page_title]
Bucky’s arc in TFATWS involves him trying, often in vain, to readjust to civilian life. The show’s first episode offers a stark depiction of Bucky’s life, struggling with PTSD caused by nearly a century of fighting and sleeping on the floor of his nearly bare apartment. Captain America: The Winter Soldier illuminated why he does that.
Sam, who originally helped soldiers returning from combat reacclimate, spoke to Steve about these difficulties. Sam states his bed’s too soft after getting accustomed to sleeping on the ground with rocks for pillows. It’s like marshmallow, Steve agrees, making him feel like he’d sink to the floor. Apparently, Bucky thinks so too.
