Like the finale, TFATWS’s fifth episode also features a mid-credits scene, showing John Walker hammering away at his own copy of Captain America’s shield after the original was taken away from him, along with the right to bear the moniker.
This is foreshadowing for Walker officially assuming his comic-book identity of U.S. Agent, who carries his own red-and-black shield, but it’s also highly reminiscent of Tony hammering at what will become the Mark I Iron Man suit in the MCU’s first movie. Of course, the difference in the two men’s motivations couldn’t be more stark (pun intended) – but that’s kind of the point.
