In our opinion, there’s a clear reason Marvel’s movies have become the multibillion-dollar cultural phenomena that they are. It’s not the writing, directing or acting – though those are all stellar. For our money, the secret to Marvel’s success is attention to detail. Here’s a perfect example you probably missed.
When Sam and Rhodey walk through Cap’s Smithsonian exhibit, there’s a photo of a scene from Captain America: The First Avenger. Instead of using a shot from the movie itself, Marvel used a photo that lines up with the viewpoint of an actual background character seen taking a photo of Cap’s fight against a Hydra operative – ten years earlier.
