While Carl Lumbly gets a lot of deserved praise for his visceral portrayal of Isaiah Bradley, his grandson stays mostly in the background. However, fans of who the comics who saw Eli Bradley in the MCU were cheering. The reason? In the comics, Eli is known as Patriot, and received superpowers after getting a blood transfusion from his grandfather.
Eli’s a member of the Young Avengers, as are Billy and Tommy who we’ve already seen in WandaVision, Cassie Lang from Ant-Man, Kate Bishop, who’ll be debuting in the upcoming Hawkeye show, and America Chavez, who’ll appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
