We apologize for ruining every thriller movie you’ll ever watch from now, but Knives Out director Rian Johnson revealed a little trade secret that’s also applicable to TFATWS. Specifically, Johnson let slip that Apple allows its phones to be used in movies – but only by non-villainous characters.
In other words, if you’re watching a movie and a character’s using something other than an iPhone, chances are they’re the villain. For most of TFATWS, Sharon Carter’s portrayed as a heroine until it’s revealed in the final episode she was the Power Broker the entire time. Surprising twist? Not if you noticed she was using a non-iPhone in a previous episode!
