When John Walker first appeared in the first episode’s closing moments, fans went gaga over his resemblance to Carl Fredricksen from Up. The more we learned about him, though, the less funny it became. Replacing Steve Rogers, Walker makes it a point time and again to remind everyone he’s Captain America.
He does it twice in episode five – when he proclaims he’s Captain American during his hearing, and then to Sam before he rips his wings off. This only highlighted how much Walker ISN’T Cap, as Steve always referred to himself as Steve Rogers – like when he introduced himself to Groot in Avengers: Infinity War.
