Assuming the worst about people really isn’t a cute look, but it unfortunately seems fairly common in retail. Perhaps this store’s workers were a little too jaded by previous experiences to be able to see the best in people anymore…
It doesn’t seem very logical a customer would break a lamp they clearly wanted, on purpose. That would just cost them having to waste time going back to the store, and argue to get the exact same lamp one more time.
