Some would argue that the rules are there to be followed, and some would say that being overly by-the-rules makes you an authoritarian. Surely there needs to be somewhere in the middle? Management had established that the sales associates are not supposed to leave their zone…
…But doesn’t it seem like a bit too much to write up a worker who walked a sweet old man to another room so he could find the item he was looking for? Helping him in this case was not only a part of their job, but the decent thing to do, no?
