Retail is a challenge, but reading some of these stories, we get the impression that the whole thing is just made more challenging because of bad managers who lack empathy for their workers.
This former Forever 21 employee was still in high school, and wasn’t even allowed to call their mother to let her know they’d be hold up at work. Talk about putting a worker AND their mother in an awfully stressful situation that was completely avoidable in the first place.
