One of the biggest criticisms levied at the first Avengers movie, was the lack of casualties during the Battle of New York. In order to try and fix that, and show the battle did have consequences, the sharp eyed will notice a memorial statue In Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The clock over Grand Central Station is replaced with a memorial to first responders. The original clock was destroyed in the first Avengers film during the Battle of New York.
