Thanos and Gamora’s relationship is… complicated to say the least. After abducting her as a Child, Thanos raised Gamora to be a mighty warrior, but she never forgave him for abusing her. However, deep down, Thanos does truly care for her. A prime example of this can be seen in Avengers: Infinity War.
In the movie, Gamora tells her adoptive father that she has always hated his chair. In response, Thanos sits below the chair, on the step leading it, in order to show that he really does care about Gamora.
