Just to help you get a sense of what a fundamentally flawed Jameswood Villa was, we’ll take the living room floors as example. On the top floor of the villa, the floorboards in that room were so thoroughly rotted out that they could literally crumble if someone touched them.
This was just downright dangerous, and so Claire decided that it was safer to remove them altogether than to have someone think they’re safe, only to plummet to the room below. And since theirs was an equal opportunity operation, she removed them herself!
