As it turns out, almost anything can be turned into a realistic ceramic vase. It just involves a very simple hack of mixing baking powder and paint (and for extra rough texture you can mix in some sand too).
Simply take an old glass/porcelain vase or plant pot, paint it with the baking soda-paint mixture, let it dry, and voila; elegant faux ceramic masterpieces to decorate your home with. You can use any color paint you want, but white and terracotta brown look the most realistic.
